Application
Monk life is a pure and straightforward path to follow. All one needs to do is adhere to three simple concepts. Respect, patience, and discipline and it will help you find great happiness in your life as a monk. The lesson and experience that many receive from this short period of ordination, seems to have a lasting effect throughout each individual’s life. That is the reason why when those that take the plunge and ordain, try to cultivate as much of the experience as possible, and we suggest that you do the same. Eligibility
Candidates must be:
1. Aged between 18-35
2. Of good character and ready to conform strictly to the regime lay down by the training
supervisors.
3. of strong health, free from infectious diseases or diseases such as diabetes, mental illness,
epilepsy, asthma, kidney disease or drug dependence.
4. Free of commitments which might interrupt during the course of training such as
examinations or placements.
5. Content with a non-vegetarian diet and whatever accommodation is provided by the
training supervisors (trainees should have the intention to avoid making a burden of
themselves by choosiness).
6. Participants must test and pass the ordination chanting, as well as able to give blessings to
the lay followers.
Keeping the Eight Precepts
Eight Precepts is the minimum standard requirement of all participants joining the
Dhammadayada Training before ordination, namely abstaining from:
1. Taking the life of any living creature
2. Taking things that are not given
3. Unchastity
4. Speaking falsely, abusively and maliciously
5. Consuming alcohol or intoxicants
6. Taking solid food after midday
7. Singing, playing romantic music, dancing, attending games and shows, wearing cosmetics
or flower-garlands
8. Sleeping or resting on luxurious high seats or beds

The program is aim for qualified applicants only not for quantity and the spaces are limited, early registration is strongly recommended.
Course fees
There will be a minimal cost for the course payable at the time of interview approximately 3,500 Baht or $100 USD.
Food and refreshment: Two meals per day and certain allowable drinks during the evening hours.
Travel and lodging: Bus / Train travel, simple accommodations and the use of retreat centers for meditation.
Application Requirements
1. Two recent 2” Passport-style Photographs of the applicant.
2. Photocopies of applicants’ identification documents and passport.
3. Written permission from applicant’s parents or guardian.
4. Medical examination record with physician’s statement of guarantee.
5. A completed application form before the application deadline (April 10, 2010).

What you ought to leave at home
Please refrain from bringing along any of the following items that may be disruptive to your training:
*Distracting reading material;
*Mobile phones, CD or cassette players, CD’s, cassettes, radio, televisions or video cameras;
*Computers;
*Valuables and jewelry such as rings and necklaces;
*Knives, weapons or other dangerous items;
*Cigarettes, cigars, tobacco, non-medicinal drugs or alcohol
After graduating from this one month course of meditation and Dhamma talks, you will receive the greatest gift of all. This gift is neither money nor gold, nor is it a car or a house. All of these are just material possessions and are merely superficial when it comes down to something genuine. This gift I have mentioned is, if you have not already guessed it yet, happiness and it comes from within us. We just have to learn to nurture our mind, as well as find stillness through meditation.
In this course all the participants will be guided in a set of meditation instruction and learn basic knowledge about the inner workings of meditation. You will learn how to apply it to your everyday life, while building good habits along the way. If you are someone who likes to constantly improve your skills and advance forward in life, this program is a must for benefits beyond what words can describe.
