Ordination Prohibitions

I hereby acknowledge, and will abide by these regulations throughout my training:

  • I will not store food for consumption after lunch.
  • I will not keep any unauthorized items in my possession (intoxicants, weapons, radio, irrelevant books, mobile phone)
  • I will not sleep with others inside the same personal mosquito net or tent.
  • I will not speak divisively or in a way that might turn one group of participant against another.
  • I will not start a fight or be party to others’ fighting.
  • I will not leave the training area without permission.
  • I will not steal or to be part of others’ stealing.
  • I will not disobey and disrespect to the training personnel.
  • I will not damage religious property.

Also I hereby acknowledge that I am exempted from and not subject to any of the following:

  • Homosexual, Bisexual, Transexual, Transvestite, Hermaphrodite
  • has any mental illness.
  • an alcoholic, a drug addict, a vagrant
  • deaf, blind, or unable to speak. I am not too old or incapable
  • has an infectious disease, e.g. Infectious Tuberculosis
  • bankrupt or in overwhelming debt
  • escaping from government and/or military service
  • suspect in a criminal case
  • escaping after conviction of a crime
  • prohibited from ordaining in Buddhism
  • has a verdict, or a jail sentence for a serious crime
  • has disabilities and not able to perform monk activities
  • killed Arahant Monk (Buddhist Saint) or Father/Mother
  • raped Buddhist monk
  • pretended to be a Buddhist monk without proper Ordination
  • previously disrobed as a Buddhist monk to join another religion
  • previously ordained Buddhist monk defeated by inappropriate behavior
  • previously a Buddhist monk who caused a monastic schism

 

    I hereby also understand that IDOP committee reserve the right to ALLOW, REJECT, or EXPELL any applicant, if any of the applicant does not abide by any of the following regulations or is subjected to any of the following ordaining prohibitions. Also The IDOP committee reserves the right to ACCEPT or DISCHARGE participants who would like to continue their stay after the completion of the program.
